Toronto's Most Charming Cafés

I am one of those people who is absolutely useless before my morning cup of coffee.  It is one of my favourite things about the morning.  Such a comfort it is to have a hot cup of coffee in hand.  Especially when enjoyed inside a cute café & extra points if it comes in a beautifully designed mug.  I also love the culture around coffee.  Grabbing a cup with a friend, or hiding out in a café with other creative minds mid day.  My boyfriend and I will often grab coffee in the morning and then go for a walk before having brunch later in the day on weekends.  I have included a list below of my favourite places to spend a day on my lap top, or to meet a friend to catch up, over the world's favourite beverage!

Calii Love

I have professed my love before of this little spot, just a five minute walk from my condo, previously on my blog.  I definitely eat way too much poké from here.  Though it's really more of a casual restaurant, it does lend itself nicely to those of us looking for a spot to settle in with a coffee and our MacBook.  Make sure you try the poké and acai bowls as well!  You can also get a shot with the wings outside (Champagne not included).

Colette Grande

This gorgeous restaurant is in the Thompson Hotel, but also a great place to grab a beautiful coffee and a croissant.  Though it's much too busy on the weekends to bogart a table all day for writing, rumour has it, it's more of a café mid week day.  Sadly I work a desk job Monday-Friday, but hopefully one day you will find me here, working full time as a travel and lifestyle influencer!

Early Bird

Early Bird has both a lovely rooftop patio as well as a great space inside.  I love the marble tables.  Also, a great place for brunch, though it doesn't have the world's longest menu, the items are top notch.  I had the Eggs Benny (the pink hollandaise may be a bit off-putting, don't worry it's only beets!).  They are vegetarian, made with avocado and hash browns instead of ham and english muffins and they are oh, so good.

Fika

Located in Kensington Market, I come for the cardamom lattés.

Maman

One of my favourite spots in NYC has a location in Toronto as well.  Although due to it's location it's only open Monday-Friday, which is a bit disappointing as I'm at work for most of it's opening hours.  I will sometimes get up early and go before I head to the office, to enjoy an americano and pistachio loaf.  I will sometimes also pick up something for lunch, like the smoked salmon croissant sandwich with dill...so good!  I really adore the aesthetic here and it might have the prettiest coffee cups ever.

Oretta Café

I've spoken previously of the restaurant/bar portion of Oretta.  Just behind is their café with a quiet patio.  It's open earlier than the restaurant and I like to come here when I wake up early on weekends.  It's a nice quiet walk along King before any one else is awake on a Sunday morning.  The café is much more modest in design than the restaurant, but they do have beautiful coffee cups that match their floors.

Reunion Island

A little out of the way for me, in Roncesvalles, this is a really cute spot though.  Sometimes it's nice to visit another neighbourhood, especially if you're going to spend the day in a coffee shop writing blog posts etc.
