The Cape Light that Scours

Horizon's Beach Resort, sits on a private beach on the bay side of The Cape, in North Truro, just south of Provincetown.  The resort has some beautiful suites, with wooden balconies facing the water.  It is a wonderful summer retreat for families.  On our final day on The Cape I woke early enough to catch the sunrise and a charming rainbow over the water.  After checking out of Horizon's we stopped for brunch on the way back to Boston.  Given that my favourite brunch food has always and will always be Eggs Atlantic, I had to have the Eggs Benedict with lobster cakes, yes they were as decadent as they sound.  Although we had the better part of the day to make our way back to Boston to catch our flight, we were in no way prepared for the mass exodus out of The Cape's 4th of July weekend.  We experienced grid-lock for the majority of our ride, all down The Cape and into Boston's infamous traffic.  We did have time to stop at the Nauset Light in Eastham.  A favourite summer spot of Sylvia Plath, the title of this post comes from her poem, Mussel Hunter at Rock Harbor.
